Did you know you can freeze eggs? Yup, you can. From time to time eggs go on sale for a super price and you know you want to stock up, but don't want them sitting around forever. Here's what you do - get some ice cube trays and crack an egg into each chamber. When they're frozen, you can store the 'egg cubes' in plastic baggies.
Shrimp and Scallops - fragile little things aren't they - prone to freezer burn and get icky fairl quickly. There are a couple of ways I freeze them when I pick them up on sale. Please note, I'm talking about raw, not precooked here. I'll take 8 or 10 (serving for two) and put them in a zip lock bag, fill it with water and freeze it - it seems to keep the freezer burn away and give me more time to store them. If I'm going to use the shrimp/scallops within a week, I'll simply put them in baggies and freeze them, they defrost much more quickly but are also more prone to freezer burn - so use them within a week.
You can freeze bananas -- when you have bananas that are getting, well, old and don't have time to make breads - toss 'em in the freezer. When they come out, they're really mushy - perfect for baking banana bread - so don't think you can peel and eat, but perfect for cooking later on.
